This project investigates cellular and molecular interactions of a new laminin isoform, the α3B polypeptide chain, at the dermal-epidermal junction. The specific molecular aggregates of this chain and their functions in cell adhesion and migration will be characterized. Further, the role of different isoforms of laminin 332 will be assessed using cell-biological, protein-chemical and molecular biology methods.
