EPIDERMOLYSIS BULLOSA (EB) - CENTRE AUSTRIA
The „eb-centre Austria“ has been located in the university dermatology clinic of the Salzburg provincial clinic since 1997. Through the good interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments of our hospital, our team now consists of about 30 medical doctors, therapists and counsellors. In addition to the diagnostics and therapy, research is an important area for our centre.
Our diagnostic capabilities: molecular genetic mutation analysis, IF antigen mapping, electron microscopy, prenatal diagnosis.
Our therapeutic capabilities: preventive investigations (e.g. skin tumours), operation of specific skin tumours, operation of squamous cell carcinomas, own-skin transplantations, tooth rehabilitaion during anaesthesia, hand operations, insertion of PEG probes, optometric investigations and therapy, preparation and fitting of hand splints, physiotherapy, ergotherapy, medical dietary counselling, psychological counselling, wound care.
